We need and greatly appreciate your support to continue our services. As a not-for-profit agency, we rely on the generosity of supporters for prayer and donations. Our fees and reimbursement rates are set by State and federal regulatory rules which leave little room for financial security. Oftentimes our expenses outweigh the reimbursement we receive for services, so we look to friends, grants and community-minded businesses to help us fill the gap. Thank you for whatever ways you can help us serve others as we care for those in need.
Thank you for your help!
Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care participates in and depends upon the fund-raising activities co-sponsored with the Franciscan Life Center. These events and outreaches include:
- Franciscan Sports Banquet and Silent Auction – June
- Franciscan Golf Classic – August
- Lighting the Way – Month of November
Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care decorates with lights a very large tree and also illuminates a wooded pathway during the month of November during the Christmas Season to commemorate those patients served who died in the past year and others in years previous. The Lighting of the Way Services take place on the campus near the Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care offices. To donate to Lighting the Way, please call 203-238-1441. $30 donation to help Light the Way. $250-$500 to make a significant contribution to light the hospice memorial trees. - Franciscan Christmas Fair – Saturday before Thanksgiving Day
The entire campus of the Franciscan Life Center is transformed into fair activity. The highlight is the enactment of Living Creche three times in the course of the fair. The Fair features homemade breads, homemade and canned foods, booths for children, crafts, pottery. Trees and handmade wreaths can be purchased. Available to eat are fresh bread, coffee, cappuccino, pie, fried dough, soda, hot dogs and popcorn. - Annual Appeal
The annual appeal is mailed out annually around St. Francis Day, October 4th. The returns go to support our services. - Endowment Fund
The Mother Shaun Endowment Fund was established for those donors who wish to contribute to the ongoing mission of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist through the services offered in the greater Meriden, Connecticut, region. Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care will benefit from interest gained through this Endowment Fund.
