Valentine’s day is not just a “Hallmark holiday”!
St. Valentine was a real person who lived in Rome at the time of Emperor Claudius. During his life he witnessed to God’s love by supporting his fellow Christians under persecution.
On this day we celebrate love in the face of difficulty. A bouquet of flowers or a box of chocolates is just a small way to display the deep love we have for our spouses, families, and friends. Another great token of love is simply spending time together: time to listen, talk, and share a moment.
